| The Flood: November 2000 | Back |
|
| In November 2000, the River Aire burst its
banks and water flooded the surrounding farmland and the village of Gowdall. Many of our
children live in this village. They had to move away from their homes. In Snaith, many
houses were sandbagged ... families had to move upstairs and be ready to leave their
homes. Click on the ship to see how the water moved into
Gowdall. Thanks to Phil Woodall of Gowdall for the photographs. You can see more pictures at Andy Westley's Flood 2000 website. |
