| The dead man stands before 14 judges to explain the good and bad things he has done. Seven of them are holding the Ankh ... the key of life. It's a draw!! So Anubis ( the Jackal God ) leads him to the scales where his heart will be weighed against a feather. If the heart is heavier than the feather , Ammit ( the God with the crocodile head ) will eat the heart ... because it is evil. If it is lighter ...then Thoth waits to write down the result. Horus, the falcon headed god then takes the dead man to Osiris who is sitting on the throne. Behind Osiris are Isis and her sister Nephthys who welcome the dead to the underworld. |
